Linda Carney, LMHC

Hypnosis is a useful tool, which can facilitate change at a deeper level by connecting with the subconscious part of the mind, which controls behaviors and beliefs that are below conscious awareness. Hypnosis is often used as part of Rapid Trauma Resolution, as well as Past Life Regression Therapy.

Linda Carney, LMHC, completed hypnosis training through the Southern Institute of Neurolinguistic Programing, the Institute for Survivors of Sexual Violence, and the Weiss Institute. She meets licensing requirements to practice hypnosis in the state of Florida.

The following are questions frequently asked about hynosis:

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural process, and is similar to meditation or daydreaming. People go in and out of trance often, such as when they become engrossed in a movie or lose track of time. Hypnosis can facilitate change by working with the subconscious mind, which is
the part of the mind that controls automatic behaviors.

What if I can't be hypnotized?

Since trance is a natural state that everyone experiences, anyone can be hypnotized.

Can hypnosis make me do something I don't want to do, or control my mind?

No. Studies have been conducted which have shown, without a doubt, that no one will do anything against his/her own will or value system while hypnotized.
